This banner represents the Pan American Nikkei Convention, or COPANI, which has been held every two years since 1981. COPANI brings together Nikkei from different countries and backgrounds to discuss issues affecting the Nikkei community in North and Latin America. Most participants have mainly been 2nd generation Nikkei, but with the passage of time, an increasing number of 3rd and 4th generation Nikkei have joined COPANI. The Convention has also helped to increase cross-border exchanges in Nikkei society, along with the formation of new bonds.
