JICA Executive Senior Vice President Yamada Met with Deputy Prime Minister Khurelbaatar of Mongolia

On October 11, JICA Executive Senior Vice President Yamada met with Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy and Development Chimed Khurelbaatar during his visit to Mongolia. The meeting was also attended by Kobayashi Hiroyuki, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to Mongolia.

At the opening of the meeting, Deputy Prime Minister Khurelbaatar expressed his appreciation for the support JICA has provided to Mongolia to date, which has contributed greatly to the country's development. He also noted the country's progress in fiscal reforms and monetary policy initiatives, mentioning the country's recovering economic status and the growing passenger demand at the New Ulaanbaatar International Airport, which Japan helped to develop.

In response, Executive Senior Vice President Yamada expressed JICA's commitment to supporting the Mongolian government's financial reform efforts. He also mentioned that, going forward, in addition to strengthening the capacity of government agencies, an improved investment environment between the two countries will contribute to growth through private investment. With such growth a focus of the Mongolian government's policies, Executive Senior Vice President Yamada expressed his high expectations for the Mongolian government's success in this regard.
