On April 16, the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) signed a grant agreement with the Government of the Republic of Tunisia in Tunis, to provide grant aid of up to 1.209 billion yen for the Project for the Construction of Fishery Surveillance Vessels.

This project will enhance the fisheries monitoring, control and surveillance system through the provision of surveillance vessels, and thereby support the improvement of fishery resources management in Tunisia. This project will also contribute to the achievement of SDGs Goals 8 and 14.
