We are pleased to invite Professor Finn Tarp, Director of United Nations University World Institute for Development Economics Research (UNU-WIDER) to our public seminar.

He will talk about the following topics: (i) aid, growth and development: what do we know?; (ii) poverty and human development: what do we know?; (iii) the changing global context: challenges and opportunities for aid; and (iv) looking post 2015. His argument will be based on the UNU-WIDER’s 3 year research programme on foreign aid (ReCom) and provide an overview of key findings.

He will summarise the existing knowledge about what we know about human development and poverty and discuss the ongoing challenges in the global economy, which implies both challenges and opportunities for foreign aid. His conclusions will focus on the role of foreign aid in a post-2015 perspective.
