Dispatch of the Japan Disaster Relief (JDR) Expert Team in Response to the oil spill on the coast of Mauritius

Following the decision by the Government of Japan, the Japan International Cooperation Agency will dispatch JDR Expert team to the Republic of Mauritius in response to the oil spill from a bulk carrier "WAKASHIO".

On July 25, a bulk carrier "WAKASHIO" grounded on the coast of the Republic of Mauritius, causing an oil spill since August 6.

The team composed of 6 experts will leave Japan on August 10 and give assistance including activities for oil removal on site.
