Our journey so far: ZIM-SHEP

ZIM-SHEP started in March 2019. The project is still on-going and it will be completed in March 2024. Due to the global outbreak of COVID-19, we had conducted limited activities in 2020 which caused delay in our progress. However, the activities has been conducted constantly in the year 2021.

The latest article was posted in October 2021 regarding Market surveys.

The next activity will be the follow up on extension officers and target farmers on their activities after the Market Survey Exercises organized by the project. From there, the farmers were expected to carry out (1) Feedback Meeting, (2) Market survey with their own resources, (3) Feedback meeting on the market findings, (4) Crop Selection and Commodity Group Formation, (5) Crop Calendar Making. During our follow-up, we will be interviewing staff and farmers to confirm how these exercises were done to bring "Grow to Sell" mindset into practical action.

We will continue making effort to find the best suited way to apply SHEP approach in agricultural extension activities in Zimbabwe.
