News#4 Discussion on the Introduction of Multimodal Terminal in Maputo City (August 2023)

The second meeting of the Technical Working Group for Output 3 was held on August 30, 2023, chaired by the Directorate of Mobility, Transit, and Transport (DMTT), which is responsible for urban transportation mobility in the city of Maputo. During the meeting, discussions were shared regarding the future multimodal terminal and transit mall in Maputo. Experts from JICA (Japan International Cooperation Agency) gave presentations on the significance and benefits of a multimodal terminal such as its role as a transportation hub, an economic and service center, its contribution to urban aesthetics, and its function as a disaster response center. The presentations aimed to enhance understanding among the participants and to facilitate discussions regarding potential candidate terminal locations.
