As a part of China's cooperation to Ethiopia, the "Ethiopia-China Agricultural Technology Demonstration Center" was established at Ginchi, West Shore Zone, Oromia last year. To observe the centre's facilities and activity, a team of experts from the FRG II Project visited the centre in December 2012. The center consisted of demonstration farms and buildings including training rooms, a dormitory, greenhouses, livestock barns, a warehouse, postharvest facilities and an aquaculture/reserve pond. The technical staff and support staff were dispatched from China and were preparing the facilities to start their work shortly.
The experts also visited KOPIA (Korea Project on International Agriculture) at Holetta Agricultural Research Center on the same day to observe KOPIA activities. There were a number of horticultural crops including Chinese cabbage, eggplants, potato, etc. planted by the center staff and Korean experts in the research/demonstration plots.
The FRG II Project continues to exchange information with both Chinese and Korean projects for mutual benefit.
