Mr. Takeda, Coordinator/Impact evaluation and Mr. Kikuchi, Short-term expert on extension material development of FRG II visited a research site of Bahir Dar University. The research evaluates the improved fish processing technologies together with fishers. The improved technology enables drying fishes faster and more hygienic with a tent and is different from the conventional method which dries fish in the open air and unhygienic environment. The research also tried smoking method. The research team is currently conducting the microorganism culture examination of processed fishes in their laboratory. The issues on tent structure and market prices were raised by targeted fishers. The team was going to concider the result of the culture examination and issues to plan research activities for next season.
