Rice yield survey training was carried out between 26th and 28th Nov 2014 at National Rice Research and Training Center (NRRTC), Fogera, 60km to the north of Bahir Dar. This is the first practical training since the center was established in 2013. The training includes lecture on yield survey methodology, practices on reaping, grain threshing, grain weight calculation, grain moisture content calculation, yield calculation etc. The technical part of the training was led by Mr. Kengo Yamamura, Advisor to MoA and Mr. Takeshi Ajioka, Short-term expert on Rice of FRG II. The final examination to check the participant's leaning level revealed insufficient practical experience on rice cultivation and basic mathematic skills.
