A stakeholder meeting of National Rice Research and Training Center (NRRTC) was held on 17th March 2014 at Woreta Agricultural Technical and Vocational Education Training (ATVET) College. The objective of the meeting was to share the background and purpose of the center and its present status NRRTC with the stakeholders. The representatives from South Gonder Zonal office, farmers, EIAR and Woreta ATVET college participated in the meeting. Ms. Miki Motomura of JICA Ethiopia office, Mr. Kengo Yamamura of MoA and Mr. Shingo Takeda, FRG II also participated. There was intense debate about the rice production in Fogera and role of NRRTC. Understanding among stakeholder, particularly local communities, to the NRRTC was deepen through the meeting.
