Two-days-workshop, "KAIZEN Experience Workshop", was held on August 23 and 27, 2010. Production managers and staffs from 30 Pilot Project companies joined the workshop and experienced how to do "KAIZEN". The attendees were divided into several groups and conducted typical cycle of KAIZEN activities composed of 4 steps: 1) Analysis of current operation procedure, 2) Finding of waste (Muda) and considering improvement measures, 3) Implementation of the improved measures and measurement of the effects, and 4) Making of new standard operation procedure. After conducting KAIZEN activities, each group made presentations of improvements (KAIZEN) they made. Their great creativities and various improvement measures shows that Ethiopian people have a great potential for KAIZEN activities. All attendees were recommended to share their learning in this workshop in their companies. It is expected that they will be change agents to realize corporate culture with KAIZEN in which employees have bottom-up mind-set.
