Training of Trainers (TOT) in District Level

As part of operational implementation cycle of PRIMA Kesehatan Phase 2, Training of Trainers has been conducted in each target district: Barru, Bulukumba and Wajo. The objective of the ToT was to train Sub-District staff and Health Center staff to be able to facilitate Health Working Groups in making action plans for the villages/wards. The trainers of the ToT were the 31 field facilitators (JICA project staff) and District Implementation Team (project counterparts) who have completed the Provincial level ToT in Makassar.

ToT for Barru District was conducted on 13 – 15 April 2011 at Bola Soba’e. In Bulukumba, the ToT was conducted on 12 - 14 April 2011 at Health Office of Bulukumba District. For Wajo District, the ToT was held on 18 – 20 April 2011 at Ashar Hotel, Sengkang. Number of ToT participants in Barru were 37 consists of 7 participants from Sub-Districts, and 30 participants from Health Centers. In Bulukumba, the participants of the ToT were 68 consist of 10 participants from Sub-Districts and 58 participants from Health Centers. While in Wajo, there were 73 participants consists of 13 participants from Sub-Districts and 60 participants from Health Centers. Overall, there were 178 attendants of ToT from the 3 target districts.

In the trainings, the participants were enthusiastic about exchanging ideas and questions each other. The provided materials were PRIMA Kesehatan guideline, a booklet about 6 modules of PHCI planning for village/ward and exercises sheets of making a proposal, financial report and activity report.
