May Holds a workshop for Disaster Nursing / Critical Care / Emergency Nursing

In the Project, we have 2 main pillar for the enhancement of the nursing capacity, one is improvement of Nursing Career Ladder System and introducing it to hospitals, and the other is improvement of training for nurses such as Disaster Nursing / Critical Care / Emergency Nursing and Geriatric Nursing.

Since the commencement of the project in October 2012, we started activities for Career Ladder System and in May, we started activities for training for nurses.

At this time, it is decided this project will contribute to 2 area of nursing; Disaster Nursing / Critical Care / Emergency Nursing and Geriatric Nursing, and we implemented a workshop for Disaster Nursing / Critical Care / Emergency Nursing as a first step of this.

Short-term expert visited Indonesia from The Japanese Red Cross Kyushu International College of Nursing and Oita Red Cross Hospital from 7th May to 11th May 2013, and we shared knowledge and experience in Japan on education and training for this field during this workshop.

We planned to conduct training in Japan for this field during this fiscal year, and it is expected to prepare for the training in Japan based on the result of this workshop.

Share the Japanese experience of education and training for Disaster Nursing / Critical Care / Emergency Nursing

(2) Significance of the workshop
Participants can image a training / education for Disaster Nursing / Critical Care / Emergency Nursing through this sharing and utilize this knowledge to the project's activities

(3) Expected outcome
- Deepen counterparts' understanding on the Japan's situation of training and education for Disaster Nursing / Critical Care / Emergency Nursing.
- Counterparts become to be able to improve trainings / education on Disaster Nursing / Critical Care / Emergency Nursing in Indonesia
