4th training in Japan (geriatric nursing)

4th training in Japan was conducted from 22nd September to 17th October 2014. The theme of the training was geriatric nursing. The project has three main activities: 1. Strengthen the Ladder, 2. Improve quality of curriculum for Disaster Nursing / Critical Care / Emergency Nursing, and 3. Improve quality of curriculum for geriatric nursing and the 3rd main activity was started following the Ladder and Disaster Nursing / Critical Care / Emergency Nursing.

The one of contents of the training was how to develop training curriculum like 3rd training in Japan. In addition, participants learned Japanese history of geriatric nursing and how Japan decided the direction of nursing care for ageing people.

In Indonesia, Ministry of Health has just decreed the Minister decree on the treatment for ageing people at hospitals in 2014 and there is no experience to conduct systematic nursing care for elder persons. Therefore, participants learned Japanese experience to utilize it for their development of nursing standard for treatment of ageing people at hospital and develop a new curriculum.

It is expected that the project contribute to developing a new standard and curriculum.
