Activities regarding the geriatric nursing which is one of main parts of the project will started with the training in Japan in October 2014.

Prior to the beginning of activities for geriatric nursing, JICA deployed two short-term experts to seek for needs of the field and understand the real situation at the field.

In Indonesia, hospitals will set up ward for aged people in a phased manner. Dr. Soetomo hospital which is one of pilot hospitals of the project has already launched out-patient clinic for aged people and the short-term experts visited the clinic.

It is expected that information which was obtained during the visiting will be used to develop contents of the training in Japan according to the needs of field and be utilized for project activities after the training in Japan.
