O&OD Seminar for Local Government Training Institute (LGTI) and Community Development Training Institute (CDTI) Lecturers

As a foundation of improved O&OD model to be replicated over nation-wide level, institutions that are capable of training district task force members and ward facilitators will be necessary in various part of Tanzania. In this regard, the project started considering 10 training institutions as training agency candidates so that effective training system can be built while utilizing existing framework. This seminar not only explained the project outline to the participants but also aimed at identifying appropriate institutes for this model and confirming capability of tutors as potential trainers.

The seminar started by elaborating the project outline, followed by group discussions and plenary session with such specific topics as "How can you analyze community and what is important elements to consider and why?" "What sort of participatory approach do you teach at your institute?" "What elements of participatory approach will be necessary to promote motivation of community people?"

By the end of the seminar, most of the lecturers and tutors who got impressed by the project activities showed their strong will to call a visit to the project site next time.
