Launching the Project: "Rural Road Maintenance System Development Project(RMSD)"

On April 2012, the Rural Road Maintenance System Development Project (RMSD) has been officially kicked off. The Project is aimed at strengthening the capacity of rural road development and maintenance in Tanzania. This Project is implemented based on the experience and techniques which have been acquired by "the Project for Capacity Strengthening on Labor Based Technology" from June 2006 through February 2011, targeted the Appropriate Technology Training Institute (ATTI) as a main counterpart in the aim of enhancing its capacity to coordinate LBT training.

On the day 4, May 2012, the Project convened the meeting, and Chief Adviser Dr. Tokunaga had explained the idea of detailed Work-Plan in the Prime Minister's Office, Regional Administration and Local Government (PMO-RALG). There was active discussion on the process of the Project implementation and further activities. In the Project, the activities to aim at capacity development of rural road maintenance, practical skills of techniques in the regional level are implemented in the model districts.

The participants of the meeting expected to the remarkable achievement on the efficiency of duties and development of monitoring skills through the Project.
