Time to Start the Baseline Survey!

To perceive current condition of road maintenance, the Project RMSD has started the baseline survey into the organization system and record. The targets of the baseline survey are all districts and cities of Dodoma and Iringa, included Chamwino and Iringa districts where have been selected as model districts.

The Project expects that the current condition and challenges in the field will be figured out, since current situation of those districts and cities are comparable to the end of the Project. The target areas are; Chamwino, Bahi, Condoa, Congua, Mupuwapuwa-district and Dodoma-city in Dodoma region, Iringa, Kiroro, Mufinga-district and IRinga-city in Iringa region.

The baseline survey will be carried out for 30 days.

    The objects to be surveyed are following;
  • Record of road inventory
  • Organization system of technical department in district
  • Technical capability (experience, certification etc.)
  • Record of annual budget and budget implementation
  • Annual plan of road maintenance
  • Registered construction company
  • Record of contract
  • Record of audit

In order to identify the capacity of the contractors, we are going to conduct interviews on the survey. The condition and status of the rural road where had been maintained will be also checked on site in the baseline survey.
