With the cooperation of the Pollution Control Department (PCD), the 2nd NGOs Dialogue Meeting was organized on March 13, 2012, and chaired by Mr. Rangsan Pinthong, Director of Waste and Hazardous Substance Management Bureau. Besides the representatives from NGOs, lecturers, researchers, and governmental environmentalists also participated in the meeting.

Leading to the main topics, Mr. Munehiro Fukuda, the JICA expert, made a presentation on the proposal for selection criteria for target substances and a draft target substances list under the PRTR system. The floor actively discussed the topics and generally approved the selection criteria for target substances. There was also a proposal from the participants to include some chemicals in the draft target substance list. The JICA expert and PCD project counterparts promised to conduct further investigation to consider the inclusion of the proposed chemicals.

Nevertheless, the selection criteria and draft target substance list are publicly open for comment and suggestions via the PCD website until April 30, 2012.
