From 3rd – 8th November, training course on GMT Pestis was organized with the participation of for four laboratory staff in Rare Bacteria Laboratory, Bacteria Department (National Institute of Hygiene and Epidemiology) and Japanese short term expert Dr. Takahashi. In recent years in Vietnam, there has been no Pestis outbreak; however, it is high possibility of infection from neighbor countries. Therefore, it is essential to develop diagnosis method to respond in emergency cases. Based on characteristics of Pestis, genetic diagnosis method by PCR machine producing quick and accurate result becomes popular and effective. Training on Multiplex PCR technique supported NIHE to establish diagnosis system.
