Training course in Japan (the third course)

PhotoBiosafety practice

There were two training courses organized in NIID (Japan) from October 8th to November 11th for 4 Vietnamese participants. Training course on biosafety included two participants from NIHE and PIHCMC. Training course on GMT Influenza included two participants from TIHE and PINT. All participants also attended training course on biosafety principles and practice, management of BSL 3 laboratory, storage and transportation of pathogen and Formalin vaporization. Biosafety training course was organized in several manufacturers focusing on such as biosafety cabinet checking, high pressure sterilization, air-conditioning system management and water flow system. GMT training course covering a wide-range knowledge of Influenza virus from handling, isolation, theory and genetic analysis technique and to quality control. All participants had a field trip to Institute of Hygiene in Toyama province, learned about actual situation of biosafety practice and laboratory network with NIID.

Participants evaluated the training course very useful or their work in Vietnam and are expected to play a leading role in their Institutes.
