Training course in Japan (the fifth course)

Training course on biosafety was organized in NIID (Japan) from August 17th to September 13st for 4 Vietnamese participants. In order to introduce the current situation of biosafety in Japan to Vietnamese researchers responsible in the frontier of the region, training course on biosafety included four participants such as Mrs. Hong Hanh laboratory head from Yen Bai PCPM directed by NIHE, Mrs. Thu Mai vice-director from Can Tho City PCPM by PIHCMC, Mrs. Kim Thu laboratory sub-head from DakLak PCPM by TIHE and Mrs. Than Nhan laboratory sub-head from Da Nang PCPM by PINT. All participants attended training course on biosafety principles and practice, management of BSL 3 laboratory, storage and transportation of pathogens and formalin vaporization for sterilization. Biosafety training course was also organized in several manufacturers, focusing on such as biosafety cabinet checking, sterilization by high pressure, air-conditioning system management and water flow system. All participants had a field trip to Provincial Institute of Hygiene in Toyama province, learned about actual situation of biosafety practice and laboratory network with NIID.

Participants evaluated the training course very useful for their work in Vietnam and are expected to play a leading role in their frontiers.
