Counterpart Training in Japan "Community Health"

For two weeks from 13th to 24th June, 10 people of the Project counterparts from Medical Service Administration of Ministry of Health, Provincial Department of Health and Provincial General Hospitals of 6 target provinces (Hoa Binh, Son La, Dien Bien, Lai Chau, Lao Cai and Yen Bai) were dispatched to Japan for participating in the course titled "Community Health".

In the first week of the training, they had series of lectures about general health & medical system of Japan based at National Center for Global Health and Medicine (NCGM) in Tokyo. In the second week, the group moved to Shimane Prefecture. They visited the Prefectutal Office, Shimane Prefectutral Central Hospital and regional local health facilities, etc. for the purpose of observing the regional cooperation among the health facilities, eapecially about regional medical information network system "Mame-NET" which has been introduced and already in operation in Shimane Prefecture. Their study tour to Shimane Prefecture was reported in Shimane Nichi-nichi Newspaper.

In the summary session of the final day, each trainee made their activity plans for their workplaces after returning from Japan. This year, more working-level staffs (not management-level) participated in the training course compared to the last year, and they presented more concrete action plans such as making a training course for clinical practice, a healthcare program for old people and setting up an information system among the regional medical facilities, etc.

After this training, it is expected that they carry out their activity plans in their assignment post, aiming for strengthening regional medical services, as well as making good use of human network among the ex-trainees who had attended the counterpart training courses in Japan through the Project.
