This exhibit recreates the dining table of a typical immigrant. To the right, there are exhibits that introduce the work that Nikkei organizations did to form connections among Japanese people in their new homes and preserve Japanese culture. The panel to the left explains some of the bonds formed between Japan and the various destination countries that have lasted even until the present day. Finally, towards the back, you will find exhibits about things that were important to Nikkei communities, such as education, Japanese-language newspapers, and medical and social services.
