This exhibit partially recreates a typical immigrant home. Immigrants would retain their Japanese traditions in their new countries even as they gradually adopted the local lifestyle. This is also reflected in their food. Their dining tables were microcosms of cross-cultural exchange. You are welcome to touch the food replicas at the front of the table.
