In this exhibit, we can see how Japanese immigrants lived in other countries. The first exhibit here is a recreation of the dining table of a typical immigrant. You can see here what kinds of foods they ate.
There were also Nikkei organizations that worked to preserve Japanese culture and connections among Japanese people in their new homes.
This exhibit shows you the kinds of bonds that Japanese immigrants formed between their new country and their hometowns in Japan. Many of these bonds continue to this day.
Towards the back, you will find information about Japanese-language newspapers for Nikkei communities, as well as educational, medical, and social services.
