Dispatch of Short term researcher (Short term expert)

Dr. Kengo Kubota, Tohoku University, and Mr. Kampachiro Urasaki, PhD student of Tohoku University, visited Kasetsart Univsersity and Khonkaen University from 16 to 22 February. Dr. Kubota has researched Bio-fuel in G4 of the Project.

In Khonkaen University, they had research meetings with Dr. Pairaya Choeisai to review collected data. They also visited a starch factory to see its wastewater treatment process and talked with the factory staff about research collaboration in future.
Visiting Dr. Chart Chiemchaisri, G5 in Kasetsart University, they discussed research interaction between G4 and G5. Further, they met other research groups and exchanged information on their research and project activities each other.

During their stay, we had an opportunity to introduce the Project to Dr. Masayoshi Yamada, National Institute of Technology, Kagoshima College, and Mr. Toru Miwa, PhD student of Nagaoka University of Technology.

The Project consists of six research groups namely: G1: Duckweed Holobiont Resource & Research Center (DHbRC). G2: Duckweed holobiont collection. G3: Duckweed holobiont analysis and biotechnology. G4: Duckweed biomass utilization. G5: Duckweed wastewater treatment technology. G6: Social implementation activities toward BCG economy.
