Pham Expo 2025

Members of the Be-HoBiD research consortium participated in “Pham Expo 2025: From Local Superfood to Future Green Economy,” on August 1–3, 2025, at Phoenix Mall, Pratunam, Bangkok. The expo was held for the first time in Thailand to recognize and promote Wolffia (Pham in Thai) as a high-potential superfood—highlighting its nutritional value, rapid growth, environmental sustainability, and applications in functional foods.

The expo was organized by the Thai Chamber of Commerce and Suranaree University of Technology. The event featured talks, trainings, food innovation showcases, tastings, and the debut of the “Pham Cha” beverage, attracting researchers, entrepreneurs, farmers, and consumers alike. The event was joined by over 30 exhibitors and several hundred public participants. As part of the program, Dr. Arinthip Thamchaipenet and Dr. Suvimol Charoensiddhi gave a 15-minute talk based on their research on the basic biology of Wolffia, its utilization within the BCG (Bio-Circular-Green) economic model, and its health benefits of Wolffia food products. Dr. Metha Meetam participated as a moderator in a panel discussion on Wolffia as a future source of protein. In addition, Advanced Greenfarm, which is a Thai industrial partner of the Be-HoBiD project and a pioneer in large-scale Wolffia cultivation, took the opportunity to share its insights on Wolffia cultivation and product innovations.
