Activities of Chief Researcher and Biofuel researcher

Dr.Kubota and Dr. Morikawa together with Dr. Pairaya (Khon Kaen Univ.) worked a research site in a starch factory where the Bench scale reactors for methane fermentation of duckweed and industrial wastewater was installed. After adjusting a flow and water level of the reactor and gas traps, an inflow of wastewater into the reactors got started. They installed live-webcams to remotely watch the reactors.

Besides Khon Kaen Univ, Dr. Morikawa visited Kasetsart Univ. in Bangkok to join a meeting on Duckweed wastewater treatment (G5) and low carbonization evaluation (G6). In the meeting he discussed with Prof. Chart Chiemchaisri (Kasetsart Univ.) and his students participated, and Dr. Toyama (Univ.Yamanashi) and Dr. Ebia (National Institute of Environmental Study) who attended online, and gave advice and discussion on measurement of greenhouse gas and modification of the Duckweed wastewater treatment bench-scale plant in Kasetsart Univ.

G4: Duckweed biomass utilization. G5: Duckweed wastewater treatment technology. G6: Social implementation activities toward BCG economy.
