AJDHM has been prepared for launch by the ASEAN Institute for DHM (AIDHM) as an official activity of the ASEAN Academic Network on Disaster Health Management (AANDHM), which was established with the aim of promoting the continuing development of academic activities.
Since the AJDHM Editorial Board has been established, which was elected in March 2024, the members have been responsible for making decisions on this journal.

Relationship between AJDHM publication and AANDHM
The Production Unit (PU) of AJDHM is established in the Research, Development, and Information Sharing Division within AIDHM, and responsible for editorial operations. The PU has prepared an online journal system (OJS) and established the necessary technical support for the manuscript submission system and peer-review system, enabling the minimum requirements for publishing the academic journal. The manuscripts for the inaugural issue were mainly selected from presenters at the 2nd ASEAN Academic Conference (AAC on DHM) held in Yogyakarta in 2023, which were encouraged to develop the papers. Establishing the peer-review system required ensuring quality and extensive coordination, and the commitment of the Editorial Board and PU staff was essential for the inaugural publication of the academic journal. We have recruited reviewers mainly through the Editorial Board members, the AANDHM member institutes/organizations, including the Japanese Association for Disaster Medicine. *If you are interested in registering as a reviewer for AJDHM, please contact

A major aim of AJDHM is to promote research activities and writing papers within the ASEAN region, particularly focusing on transforming experiences from actual disasters into knowledge, and to create a platform for nurturing young researchers. Our pursuit of high quality as an academic journal will continue, but the first we must solidify the foundation of the academic journal and continue stable publication. It is also essential to raise awareness of this new journal, especially to enhance its recognition as a hub for promoting academic activities within the ASEAN region. The keyword that this journal specializes in, "Disaster Health Management," is very unique, and we are looking forward to its future impact. Since DHM can encompass a wide range of fields related not only to disaster medicine but also to overall health management, we intend to establish a technical cooperation project with the AIDHM aimed to further development and promote ASEAN academic activities.
