Joint meeting between counterparts and subcontractor for Ermera Municipality was held

In January 2025, the first joint meeting was held with the participation of counterparts from the Forestry department and Municipal Agriculture departments, and local NGO conducting field activities in Ermera Municipality which is one of the target Municipalities of the Project.

The participants mainly discussed the progress of field activities, future plans, and forest-related incidents that occurred in the target villages.

The participants actively discussed the small-scale forest fire that occurred in the target villages reported by the NGO and suggested installing a signboard to stop these illegal activities in the villages. It was also confirmed that the forest guard in Ermera Municipality will assess the damage of forest fire and report it to the village people at the next monthly monitoring meeting.

From now on, this monitoring meeting will be held several times a year and the project monitors forest-related incidents that occurred in the target villages.
