Yield surveys conducted in villages implementing the agricultural micro program

The project has been providing technical support in the agriculture sector to target villages in three of the four target watersheds: Laclo, Caraulun, and Tafara, to improve local livelihoods and contribute to forest conservation, including preventing deforestation. Since 2025, these villages have received continuous training on various agricultural techniques, including compost production, bench terracing, and the construction of animal pens.

By March 2026, the first year of training had reached a critical stage in many villages, and crops planted in the demonstration plots had entered the harvest season. To quantitatively assess the effects of the activities, the project conducted yield surveys and is comparing changes before and after the training.

Based on this approach, the partner NGO responsible for field implementation and the agricultural extension officers serving as counterparts held a series of consultations and jointly carried out the yield surveys to establish baseline data for the first year of the training program. Many extension officers participated in the surveys, carefully applying survey procedures and confirming the proper use of measurement tools.

The project plans to conduct similar joint surveys next year to continuously evaluate how crop yields change before and after the introduction of the activities through comparisons with the baseline data collected this year. Through these efforts, the project will continue to support the adoption of sustainable agricultural practices that contribute to improving local livelihoods.
