CBNRM training was conducted for counterparts in the Caraulun Watershed

In March 2024, a three-day training was conducted with the participation of 40 counterparts from the Forest Departments and the Municipal Agriculture Departments in Ainaro and Manufahi municipality in Caraulun watershed, one of the four watersheds covered by the project.

The training included the concepts and methodologies of the Community Based Natural Resource Management (CBNRM), as well as the topics such as carbon offsets, facilitation skills, and gender action plans, which are essential for the implementation of this project. During the training, the participants engaged in lively discussions.

The on-site visit of the previous project was scheduled for the third day. However, due to poor access in rainy season, it was switched to a video screening. The participants were connected by telephone to interact with the host community. Training facilitators were assigned to central counterparts, and technical transfer between central and municipal level is beginning to take root.

We have high expectations for the municipal officials who participated in this training to play an active role in the field.
