CBNRM trainings at the target 7 Municipalities were completed
In May 2024, a three-day training to learn CBNRM (Community-based Sustainable Natural Resource Management) to be introduced in the target villages by the project was conducted with the participation of 24 counterparts from the Forest Departments and Municipal Agriculture Departments in Covalima Municipality.
Chief Department of Agriculture and Extension in Covalima municipality, who is one of the training participants commented, “This was the first time to take JICA training and it was a very beneficial 3 days for us. We were able to deepen knowledge of CBNRM through this training. I hope that extension officers improve their skills through field activities of CBNRM in each village.”
The project completed all three-day trainings for target 7 municipalities. The central government counterpart mainly provided only logistics support at first, but their facilitation skills improved with each time and they now play a key role in the training.
