The project has started field activities at all target watersheds

The project team has been working on forest conservation in around 70 villages in the four watersheds by introducing Community-based Sustainable Natural Resource Management (CBNRM).

Procurement procedure for the Participatory Land Use Plan (PLUP) which is part of the CBNRM was completed in June 2024 and field activities have been started in all target watersheds, i.e., Comoro, Laclo, Caraulun and Tafara watershed.

As of September 2024, field activities have been conducted in a total of 29 villages. The project will gradually expand the activities to the rest of target villages from next year onward.

The project team regularly has meetings with local NGOs which are subcontractors for PLUP to manage the progress of field activities.
