Sharing Project Progress and Future Plans

During the meeting, the project presented an overview of activities conducted between March 2024 and February 2025, as well as the action plan for the upcoming year. The participants reached a consensus on all the key points presented.

Discussions on Sustainability Beyond the Project’s Completion

As the project nears its final year, discussions focused on five key aspects to ensure the sustainability of its initiatives:

  • Updating the National Quality Policy and Strategy
  • Clarifying the roles of MoHCC, PHEs, and healthcare facilities in quality policies and strategies
  • Developing annual plans and securing budgets for Quality Improvement (QI) activities
  • Establishing a continuous capacity-building system
  • Strengthening monitoring, evaluation, and reporting mechanisms

A particular point of discussion was the need to update the National Quality Policy, which had expired in 2020, and to develop strategies. Additionally, participants exchanged ideas on securing funding and optimizing expenditure to ensure the continuity of QI activities.

Future Outlook

While the meeting did not reach final conclusions on all sustainability-related aspects, it set the foundation for continued discussions. Moving forward, stakeholders will work toward developing a roadmap and action plan to ensure that the MoHCC can independently drive QI efforts after the project ends. In the remaining implementation period, the project will continue to collaborate with all stakeholders to support sustainable QI of health services.
