Project Introduction to the JCI ASPEC participants

The JCI ASPAC Cambodia Angkor Conference was held at a hotel in Siem Reap from June 6th to June 9th, 2024, gathering approximately 5,000 members of Junior Chambers of Commerce from various countries in the Asia-Pacific region. At the request of one of the participating groups, the Kanto District Council of the Japan Junior Chamber of Commerce, we introduced our project activities to 46 members interested in smart city activities in Siem Reap on June 7th.

The chief advisor of the Project introduced the details of each pilot project and the difficulties and challenging issues to promote the smart city approach in Siem Reap, followed by a question-and-answer session with participants. Participants expressed surprise at how clean the city of Siem Reap is and the restaurants in down town, as well as asking questions about measures to tackle with overtourism and how to increase the revenue through inbound tourism in Siem Reap, a world-famous tourist destination.
