Recycling workshop in Siem Reap in collaboration with JICA and GIZ
From 19th to 21st September 2023, Siem Reap City conducted a three-day workshop which was co-funded by JICA and GIZ
The workshop was to raise awareness among government officials, residents whose jobs are related to waste treatment, and youths, in terms of the effect of plastic and to stimulate interest among participants in starting a plastic recycling business.
JICA Project team and GIZ provided the information of the smart city approach regarding waste management and in-depth knowledge on production, usage, positive and negative effects of plastic, and practical actions that should be done to deal with plastic recycling.
It also demonstrated how to operate small scale recycling machines for some types of plastic. At the end of the workshop, participants received necessary information on how to set up a recycling plant.
