Participated in Workshop on smart city data survey conducted by Ministry of Interior
Siem Reap Smart City Project team including the project counterpart, staff of Siem Reap Administration, joined the workshop on smart city data survey conducted by Ministry of Interior in collaboration with UN-Habitat and UNOPS.
This workshop is serios of Smart City Rapid Assessment Data Collection Framework held on 13th-14th September, which survived on the identification of people needs/challenges, updating on latest initiatives, driving forces and enablers.
In this workshop, the validation of the result of the previous survey was implemented, and the finding related to smart city and knowledge sharing including case studies were presented, as well as the group discussion was conducted.
In the group discussion, one of the smart city project committee members from Siem Reap official explained the experience of the JICA training course in Japan namely Methodologies and Approaches to Realize Smart City in this September.
He introduced the Japan's pedestrian traffic light with voice alerts, PASMO (the standard passenger card/electronic money using FeliCa technology), and the example of Japan's smart city. The person's words based on the experience was very convincing to others to accelerate the understanding of smart city.
We believe that the participation of the Siem Reap Smart City Project team in this workshop is a step toward the development of smart city within Cambodia.
