Siem Reap Smart City Seminar in collaboration with Takamatsu City

Takamatsu City in Kagawa Prefecture and Siem Reap Province held a Smart City Seminar on December 18, 2023 online and at the Siem Reap Provincial Hall, in accordance with a collaboration agreement between the city and the province. The event was attended by a number of officials Siem Reap province, as well as other province and university students in Phnom Pehn and Siem Reap.

Takamatsu City has requested Dr. Kometani Yusuke, Associate Professor of Kagawa University, who has been contributing to smart city initiatives in the city, to give a presentation with regard to smart city for this seminar. Dr. Kometani presented a wide range of new smart city concepts, use cases for data utilization, and research programs in Takamatsu City. In addition, the National Polytechnic Institute of Angkor, which is fostering the future smart city professionals of Siem Reap, was also introduced themselves including their institutional setup and educational activities.

The lecture was followed by numerous Q&A sessions on how to adapt Takamatsu's initiatives to Siem Reap. We hope that the knowledge and discussions gained from this seminar will be applied to the future smart city of Siem Reap.
