On February 3rd, 2024, nine mission members from the Japan-Mekong Business Co-operation Committee visited Siem Reap. They had a meeting with the Project team including the Deputy Governor, the Director of Investment Planning Division of the Siem Reap Provincial Administration, and the Chief Advisor of the Project.
The Project team introduced the project summary, Cambodia's investment environment, and promotion video of Siem Reap tourism. The mission members asked questions about the differences with Japan's smart city approaches and the benefits of investing in Cambodia. And the mission inspected an e-scooter battery station which is a system where scooter users can freely charge or exchange batteries with a subscription, near the venue.
And on February 4th, the mission held a lunch meeting with the Governor and Deputy Governor of Siem Reap Province, the Chairman and Vice Chairman of the Siem Reap Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and the Chairman of the Siem Reap Tourism Club.
In the future, we hope that Japanese companies and Siem Reap Province will collaborate with proceeding smart city approach and solving urban issues.
