Online cultural exchange connecting elementary schools in Cambodia and Japan
A cultural exchange was held between Banti Aichas Elementary School, where JICA overseas cooperation volunteers (elementary school students) are sent, and the Elementary School in Japan (both are the third grade students). This initiative was 2nd time. The first one carried out last year in March 2023, and is an ongoing exchange.
For today’s event, Japanese students played a Cambodian song called Arapiya on a recorder. Cambodian students sang along with the performance of Japanese students.
Afterwards, the Japanese students introduced their arts and crafts and activities in the elementary school, and deepened their interactions with the Cambodian students.
This cultural exchange activity was conducted using a projector with built-in battery-powered speakers provided by Epson. By using this projector, students of both schools were able to deepen their understanding of each other's cultures and interact with each other, even though they were far apart.
