6th Joint Coordinating Committee (JCC) meeting: progress on the smart city structure and pilot projects
The sixth meeting of the Joint Coordination Committee (JCC) for the Siem Reap Smart City Project, which serves to oversee the progress of the project and future activities, was held on 19th September 2024 at the Siem Reap Provincial Hall. This meeting was conducted in conjunction with the Siem Reap Smart City Committee , which is to promote smart city initiatives in Siem Reap.
The meeting was chaired by the Deputy Governor of Siem Reap Province and followed a hybrid format, allowing both in-person and virtual participation. A total of about 50 persons, including representatives from the Ministry of Interior, JICA Headquarters, JICA Cambodia, the Siem Reap Consular Office of Japan, and other key departments within Siem Reap Province, participated in the meeting.
During the meeting, the officers from the Siem Reap Provincial Administration, the counterpart of the project, and JICA Expert Team shared updates on the project’s progress. Topics reported or discussed included capacity-building activities such as training programs held in August and September in Japan, developments related to the smart city consortium as Industry-Academia-Government-Community Platform, and the planned future direction of the project.
A Meeting Record was signed by the representatives of JCC to mark the outcomes and agreements reached during the session.
After the meeting, the some of the smart city pilot projects contents were presented by the officers of Siem Reap Provincial Administration for the Japanese JCC participants.
The next and final JCC is scheduled for April 2025.
