The Core Member Meeting of Siem Reap Smart City Consortium and Awarding Ceremony of PoC Competition for Solving Urban Issues

The Siem Reap Provincial Administration (hereafter referred to as SRPA) established the Smart City Consortium (hereafter referred to as Consortium), a platform for collaboration between the public, private, academic, and community, in July 2024 to advance smart city initiatives.

At the 2nd Consortium General Meeting in October 2024, the Project team announced to the consortium members and universities in Cambodia that it would hold a competition to provide small amounts of funding for Proof of Concept (hereafter referred to as PoC) smart initiatives. On 23^rd December 2024, SRPA held the Core Member meeting of Consortium and awarding ceremony for students and core members who successfully applied in the competition.

This meeting was held in face to face and online at Siem Reap Provincial Hall and was participated in by core members, relevant provincial departments as well as awarded students. The meeting began with the opening remarks by the deputy governor of Siem Reap Province and followed by two presentations of student teams and two core members about their PoC and Q&A session with them.

Then the Deputy Governor and the Chief Adviser of the Project gave certificates of achievement to the seven students from the two awarded teams. Both teams of students were from Institute of Technology of Cambodia in Phnom Penh.

The second stage of the agenda was the establishment of technical working groups (hereafter referred to as TWGs) by the consortium members. The SRPA proposed the establishment of TWGs on tourism and security sector.
Discussions are likely to continue within each TWG regarding their objectives, membership, roles, and deliverables.
