“Info Day” knowledge sharing on smart city planning at National University of Management (NUM)

“Info Day” to share knowledge on smart city planning was organized on 28 August 2024 at Camboverse Center, NUM Veal Sbov Campus, as part of the Smart City ASEAN Learning Network (SCALe) project activities. The event was presided over by H.E. Prof. HOR Peng and participated by Mr. Kai Kurimoto and Mr. Shigeki Miyake from JICA project team and gave presentation on JICA project activities. Also, the activities of the Smart City ASEAN Learning Network (SCALe) project, the impact of smart technology adoption on family-run businesses in Cambodia, situation and necessity of Smart Policy and Legislation Development in Cambodia, Smart Tourism, etc. were reported by the Professors and Lecturers from NUM. In the afternoon, a panel discussion was held with speakers and experts. NUM students asked some questions about JICA project, including about the current state of smart city initiatives in Japan and recommendations for Cambodia on becoming a smart city.

Furthermore, some of NUM's professors, including President HOR Peng, who has studied at Nagoya University, have degrees from Japanese universities, and there were voices expressing their hope for continued close cooperation and collaboration with Japan.
