Participation in the 6th ASEAN-Japan Smart Cities Network High-Level Meeting
The 6th Japan-ASEAN Smart Cities Network High-Level Meeting was held over two days, from Tuesday, October 29th to Wednesday, October 30th, at the Miraikan Museum of Emerging Science and Innovation in Koto ward, Tokyo. This meeting is an international conference hosted by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism since 2019, aiming to deepen cooperative relations between Japan and ASEAN countries in the field of smart cities. This year's theme was "Green Transformation," an initiative aimed at achieving both carbon neutrality and economic growth. In addition to reports on cooperative efforts between ASEAN cities and Japan, there were also presentations on best practices from Japanese companies and cities, business matching between ASEAN countries and Japanese companies, and an inspection of Toyosu Smart City.
Two representatives from the Siem Reap Provincial Administration also participated. At the session introducing smart city initiatives in ASCN countries, Deputy Governor of Siem Reap Provine, H.E. Mr. Yun Linne, gave a presentation on the JICA Smart City Project on behalf of Cambodia.
Next year, a meeting will be held in Takamatsu City where Siem Reap Province signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for the implementation of smart city initiative, so we would like to proceed with preparations so that we can promote our cooperative relationship both domestically and internationally.
