The third Project Assistance Committee Meeting Held

The third Project Assistance Committee meeting was held on June 23, 2025. The Committee was established to provide technical support to the CBNS-II Project and is composed of five highly experienced nursing experts in Japan, including the Chair, Dr. Hiroko Minami, Professor Emeritus of Kobe City College of Nursing, St. Luke’s International University, University of Hyogo, and Kochi Prefectural University.

To date, two Project Assistance Committee meetings have been held, and this third meeting took place following the participation of three Committee members in the Advisory Mission conducted in May 2025, during which they served as external members of the delegation. The meeting included a debriefing session on the mission’s activities.

With approximately eight months remaining until the end of the Project, the Committee offered recommendations on how to effectively implement the final phase of activities, as well as insights into medium- and long-term issues to be addressed. Discussions also covered collaboration with the Bangladesh Nurses Association (BNA), with whose Election Commission members a meeting was held during the Advisory Mission, and with the Bangladesh Nursing and Midwifery Council (BNMC), one of the Project’s key counterparts, responsible for nursing licensure, curricula, and accreditation of educational institutions. Legal and regulatory frameworks related to nursing were also addressed.

Building on the valuable insights shared during the meeting and continuing to receive technical support from the Committee, the CBNS-II Project will actively move forward with its activities in this final year of implementation.
