Stakeholder Workshop Held Toward Government Approval of the Master Trainer (MT) Training Module
October 15th, 2025
On October 14th a stakeholder workshop was held in Dhaka to advance the process of government approval for the Master Trainer (MT) training module. This workshop marked an important step toward the official institutionalization of the module.
Since the project’s launch, two batches of MT training were conducted in February and November 2024. The trained MTs have since been leading the improvement of nursing professionalism at the target nursing colleges and their collaborative hospitals. To ensure the sustainability of this initiative beyond the project period, the project team has been working to finalize the training module and seek its formal approval by the government.
In July 2025, the 2nd Technical Working Group (TWG) meeting was convened, attended by senior officials from the Directorate General of Nursing and Midwifery (DGNM), including the Director General, Director (Admin), and Director (Education and Discipline). Minor revisions to the MT training module were requested, but overall consensus was reached on its content. The semi-final version, reflecting these revisions, was subsequently submitted to DGNM. It was accompanied by the finalized navigation guide, which was developed alongside the MT training module to ensure the continuity of field-level activities.
The stakeholder workshop brought together 48 participants, including representatives from the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MOHFW), DGNM, the Bangladesh Nursing and Midwifery Council (BNMC), the Bangladesh Nurses Association (BNA), partner organizations, and principals, nursing superintendents and MTs from the first two target nursing colleges and their collaborative hospitals. The workshop was chaired by the Additional Secretary (Development Wing) of the Medical Education and Family Welfare Division, MOHFW, whose deep understanding of the project contributed greatly to smooth and productive discussions. Participants shared valuable insights and constructive feedback for the long-term utilization and contents of the MT training module. The strong participation from MOHFW signaled growing support and confidence in the approval process ahead.
Moving forward, the project team will compile the workshop comments and submit them, together with the meeting minutes, to MOHFW. The team will continue to support the internal government process toward formal approval of the MT training module. Through these efforts, the project aims to establish a sustainable framework for ongoing MT training implementation in the country.
