CDP Review
In May 2024, the first Career Development Plan (CDP)*1 review was conducted for nine officers of the Department of ICT Security of the Ministry of Post and Telecommunications (MPTC) of Cambodia.
The result of the evaluation was indicated that all of them have improved their skills, because the CompTIA Security+ compliant customized training conducted by the project last December, training by an equipment supplier for the Security Operation Center (SOC) equipment to be installed through Japanese Grant Aid project (conducted in March 2024), and “Cyber Threat Training” supported by the U.S. Embassy (conducted in March 2024), were also conducted.
The Project will continue to conduct training based on the CDP and evaluate its impact. The next review is scheduled for November 2024.
*1 A Career Development Plan (CDP) is a training plan that briefly describes the role and duties of the target staff member in security work, and is based on the abilities required for the job and the wishes of the individual. The CDP is prepared through individual interviews with each staff member, and a review is conducted every six months to check the degree of improvement in their abilities. The purpose is to review the training conducted in accordance with the training plan in CDP prepared last November, evaluate the results, and use the results for the next training plan. Questionnaire forms are distributed to each employee and his/her supervisor in advance, and interviews are carefully conducted with each employee for 30 minutes to an hour.
